Using Valentine Products in New Ways

With so many fun Valentine scrapbooking products available right now, it’s hard to resist picking up a few things to play with. But if you are like me, you don’t really do a lot of Valentine’s Day layouts. I might do 1 layout to celebrate what we did that day and make a few cards to give to my kids and husband, but other than that, I thought I didn’t have much use for these love themed products.

Once I started brainstorming ways to use these products on layouts other than a Valentine’s Day layout, I came up with a few ideas that I would like to share.

Here are a few starting points for you to get thinking about other used for those love themed products.

Things I love. You could do a layout all about the things you love. But sure to include a picture of yourself or pictures of the things you enjoy. You could also make a layout about the things everyone is your family loves. You could include a picture of each person and list his or her favorite things next to it.

Here is a layout I completed that shares the “Things I Love.” I wrote about the things I love on paper and then just freehand cut them out. This gave it a more playful touch.

All of the products used in this layout are from the upcoming Scrapbook Circle February kit.

My Sweetheart. You could create a page that celebrates the sweetheart in your life. This could be your significant other or even your kids. Just choose a few favorite pictures and a short line of journaling and you are on you way to a great layout.

Here is a layout I did where I incorporated some fun pictures of my daughter. She happened to be wearing a heart themed shirt, so that made the pictures even better!

These products also came from the upcoming February Scrapbook Circle kit.

Wedding. If you are like me, you still have tons of wedding photos sitting around waiting to be put into an album. Why not pull one (or more) out and create a layout that celebrates your love for each other.

Take the challenge to pick up some Valentine themed products and use them on a layout. I’m sure you will love the results.
