UV Toothbrush Sanitizer

Parents concerned about the sanitary conditions inside their kids’ mouths may want to consider using the new UV Toothbrush Sanitizer. It reportedly kills 99% of germs and bacteria that can incubate on your toothbrush.

According to a press release issued by Health Enterprises, makers of the toothbrush, the Sanitizer uses ultraviolet light to kill germs including E. coli, Salmonella and Streptococcus. The Sanitizer uses the same UV light technology commonly used to sanitize medical facilities.

The Sanitizer can hold up to five toothbrushes, both manual and powered, is safe, effective and easy to use. It comes with an automatic shut-off system that powers off when the sanitization process is complete, generally about 10 to 12 minutes. It runs on 6 – AA batteries and sells for about 25 bucks. Dads can also sanitize their razors.

“We introduced the UV Toothbrush Sanitizer to help keep people healthy by killing 99% of the germs and bacteria that incubate on a toothbrush, including E. coli, Salmonella and Streptococcus. This is especially important during the fall and winter as this product can help kill the germs that make people sick,” said Brendan Leonard, senior director of sales and marketing at Health Enterprises.

The company has been in business for over 30 years and makes all kinds of healthcare products like motion sickness bands, head lice combs and rubber finger protectors.

Many parents are concerned about germs and the safety of their family, the Sanitizer might be the way to ease their mind. The only problem I see with using this product is that consumers may not change out their toothbrushes as often as they normally would. I applaud the idea of sanitizing toothbrushes but I also think it’s a good idea to change them out often, say once a month. I always pick up a bunch of inexpensive toothbrushes from the discount stores I frequent so that we have a ready supply. Still, a product worth considering.
