Valentine’s Day: Six Days and Counting

Are you running out of time? There are only six days left until Valentine’s Day! Do you have it all planned? Are you ready?

If time or money (or both) are tight this year, the following ideas may provide some inspiration for your Valentine’s Day celebration:

Make a Gift

Put together a pocketsize photo album filled with pictures of the two of you. Include photos from when you were dating, from your wedding, your first Christmas together, etc. Another idea is to start a scrapbook for your spouse. Add concert ticket stubs and other “souvenirs” from special dates along with photos, cards you have sent each other, and any other special mementos.

Bake a Gift

Bake a tasty cake and add special decorations. Make cupcakes with sayings on them, like those little candy hearts with all the different messages. Bake your spouse’s favorite cookies and then dip them (part or all) in chocolate or white chocolate, and put them in a gift box. You can find heart-shaped boxes for gift giving in all different sizes, styles, and colors.

Keep it Simple

Sure, Valentine’s Day is a time for romance, so we often like to go all out making preparations. Sometimes, planning a simple celebration can be even better. Make a delicious home cooked meal and give your spouse a massage. Throw in a great card, and you’ll be all set.

Frame Your Love

Write a poem, print it in an attractive font or use pretty paper, and frame it. Add a small photo of the two of you. Write a love letter instead of a poem and do the same. If you are not big on writing, take a special photo of the two of you to have it enlarged instead. Choose a great frame and wrap it up.

*Remember, it’s the thought that counts. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive, just thoughtful.
