Valentine’s Day Travel Deals

What could be more romantic than spending Valentine’s Day in Paris with your sweet amore? Not that you need a reason to jet off to The City of Lights, but if visiting the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and all the outdoor cafes is not enough to sway your loved one to make the trip, perhaps this bit of news might do the trick: Paris City Hall just announced it will operate a new free bicycle service in the capital.

By doing so Paris joins other European cities such as Amsterdam in making thousands of bikes available for free to commuters, strollers and tourists – in part to help cut down on pollution. City leaders say they hope to have more than 14,000 bikes deployed in the capital in the next few weeks.

If eating escargot isn’t your ideal way to spend Valentine’s Day then consider heading to the tropics.

Aqua Hotels & Resorts, located on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu, is offering a “SPA-licious” package just in time for Valentine’s Day. The package includes a choice of two one-hour spa treatments at AquaSPA, daily continental breakfast, in-room high-speed Internet access, daily local newspaper, local and toll-free phone calls, bottled water on arrival and more. The only catch: A three-night minimum stay is required.

Spa treatment choices in the package include a manicure, pedicure and a choice of the following massage therapies: Swedish, lomilomi, shiatsu, sports, muscle release, hot stone and reflexology.

If Hawaii is a bit too far to travel for a weekend getaway consider a trip to the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa located in Phoenix, Arizona. The resort’s romantic Valentine’s Day getaway package is aptly named: “The True Love and Truffles Package.” It includes an overnight stay for two, champagne and truffles delivered to your room, and a rose petal turndown.
