Have you ever noticed that everyday there seems to be a new household cleaner of some kind made available?
And that half the time the product doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to or not as well as it should?
With the cost of all these new cleaners, one would think they would be the miracle cures. Aside from the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser which I seriously should buy stock in because I buy so many of them, there aren’t many other products out there that I have found multiple uses for, that work.
However, going back to old fashioned ways, Vinegar seems to be the solution to all of the modern day cleaners out there.
Vinegar is inexpensive and can be bought anywhere. And in order to turn it into a cleaner, really all you need is a plastic squirt bottle.
I have been using Vinegar as a cleaning product for several years now, and have compiled a great list of ways to use it.
Spilled Soda
Even if the soda stain has dried and set, you’d be amazed at what a little vinegar and water can do. Using a 50/50 combination, and a toothbrush, you will be surprised to find that this solution will take out even the most stubborn soda stains that even a professional grade cleaner couldn’t get out!
Toilet Cleaning
You can remove stubborn stains from a toilet by spraying them with vinegar and brushing vigorously with a toothbrush. The bowl may be deodorized by adding 3 cups of vinegar and allowing it to remain for a half hour and then flushing.
Kitchen Floors
If you have a no-wax floor, you can use a ½ cup of vinegar to a half gallon of warm water. It leaves floors clean with no smell of cleaner and a nice shine.
Windows
It’s easy to get those windows to shine without any streaking. Just wash with a mixture of 50/50 vinegar and warm water. Dry with a soft cloth.
Garbage Disposals
Those nasty odors that come up through the garbage disposal and rear the ugly heads from time to time, can be eliminated by freezing cubes of vinegar. In a ice tray, pour 1 cup of vinegar. Then fill the tray the rest of the way with water. Freeze. Dump the entire contents of a tray down the disposal and run it for a couple of seconds. Then run cold water for about a minute. No smell! And it’s all clean!
Coffee Maker
Vinegar can help to dissolve mineral deposits that collect in automatic coffee makers from hard water. Fill the water reservoir with vinegar and run it through a brewing cycle. Rinse thoroughly with water when the cycle is finished.
