Ways to Escape the Chaos

Consider it an early Mother’s Day gift, or perhaps a belated Valentine’s Day gift. Either way these next travel deals are great ways to treat yourself to some much needed time away from the chaos that is your daily life.

The Women’s Travel Club is currently offering a 4-day, 3-night luxury spa getaway at The Lodge at Turning Stone in Verona, New York. The trip runs March 27 to 30, 2008 and costs $1,600. The price includes suite accommodations at the AAA Dour Diamond resort, a daily $125 meal allowance, $345 spa credit and use of spa facilities, native arts classes with members of the Oneida Indian Nation, the tribe that operates Turning Stone, transfers from the Syracuse airport, plus a $300 KN Karen Neuburger gift bag. Airfare and a $35 Women’s Travel Club membership fee are extra, and you must be a member for at least three months to avoid a vacation surcharge. In addition, both KN Karen Neuburger and The Women’s Travel Club will donate $100 each per booking to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Women’s Travel Club, the group has been running trips since 1992, and has made spa trips part of its repertoire for years, including visits to some of the country’s top destination spas like Red Mountain Spa in Utah and Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires.

If you are more relaxed on the links than on a massage table then consider booking a trip with Serendipity Traveler. The group is offering a 5-day golf outing specifically designed for women.

For $1,400 you’ll be treated to an unforgettable vacation at California’s Monterey Peninsula and Carmel Valley, home to some of the country’s finest courses. You’ll play a different course on each full day of the trip, including the Robert Muir Graves-designed course at Quail Lodge, the Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed course at Poppy Hills, and the newly restored Pete Dye-designed golf course at Carmel Valley Ranch. A variety of other activities are also planned as part of the package deal so you can experience the surrounding area, including a wine tasting at a local vineyard, a Big Sur coastal outing, and a gallery stroll in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

The trip runs May 1-5, 2008 and the price includes shared accommodations at the luxury Quail Lodge, continental breakfast, lunch at the Lodge at Pebble Beach, and additional activities. The deal also includes round-trip transfers from the Monterey Peninsula airport. Airfare and greens fees are extra.
