Week 32 of Pregnancy

Welcome to the 32nd week of pregnancy! Your hormones may be raging at this point, as you have a million things going through your mind. From nursery fabrics, car seat ratings, to the various aches and pains going on inside your own body. It is no wonder that a pregnant mom is a distracted one!

What you may be experiencing

You may have begun to take on the “pregnancy waddle.” Your growing tummy coupled with an abundance of the pregnancy hormone, relaxin can make it difficult to walk properly. While this is all normal, and is part of your body’s preparation for labor, it can be a bit funny to watch. So if you aren’t as graceful as you once were, rest assured you are not alone.

Practice good posture whenever you can, and try to get as much sleep as possible. Doing so may ward of back pain and discomfort.

Your Baby

It is really hard to imagine, but your baby is getting pretty big now. Weighing in at around 4 lbs, they are really starting to look like a newborn. Fat and muscle stores are at an all time high, and your little one is growing stronger everyday. They can now move their head side to side, and may find themselves a bit cramped for space.

Concerns or Points of Interest

You are getting to the point, where you may be worried about knowing when your bag of waters breaks. Most of the time, it will happen during labor itself, but on occasion it happens before the first contraction hits. In fact about 15% of women may have a premature breaking of the bags of water. This can be a sudden gush or a slow leaking. If you notice a difference in discharge or have a sudden bout of incontinence- let your doctor know. They can determine quickly if it was amniotic fluid or something else.

If you worried about it happening in public you aren’t alone- but bear in mind that if it does happen in the middle of the grocery store you will be more concerned with your baby and going into labor than messing up the floor.
