Week in Review: December 1st-8th

We’ve had a lot of fun in Movie Reviews this last week. Would you like a quick rundown of everything we’ve watched?

The Prince and Me” is a bubble-gum love story about a girl who is attending college and gets mixed up with the Prince of Denmark, who’s incognito. They fall in love, but when she discovers his true identity, will the price of fame be too high?

“Deck the Halls” is an ornery movie about two neighbors who vie for the title of “Christmas Expert” and nearly ruin each other’s lives in the process, completely forgetting why we have Christmas in the first place.

Next is the film that made Cary Grant a star, “The Awful Truth.” When a married couple decides to divorce, visitation rights for their dog keep them in touch and they realize they’re still in love.

Sister Act II: Back in the Habit” is the sequel to “Sister Act,” filmed one year apart. Sister Mary Clarence is brought in to teach a class of misfits how to work together as a choir and ends up saving the whole school.

Dolly Parton stars in “Straight Talk,” the story of a down-on-her-luck dance teacher who stumbles into a job as a radio talk show host, dispensing advice to the love-lorn.

The Reef” is a “Finding Nemo” wannabe, with some mildly amusing moments provided by Fran Drescher.

We give a nod to the genre of melodrama with “The Enchanted Cottage,” the story of a disfigured veteran and a plain girl who become good-looking when they take up residence in a magic cottage.

Surf’s Up” is a computer-animated mockumentary about a penguin who really wants to win a surfing competition and learns some of life’s great lessons along the way.

We finish the week with “The Nativity Story,” a well-done movie about the birth of Christ and the historical events that accompanied the spiritual.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s movie line-up. Please join us again as we continue to look for good quality movies for your enjoyment here in Movie Reviews.
