Week in Review: Faith to Black Friday

This week I talked about what faith is as defined in the Bible, whether or not there is ever a time to be violent, the importance of taking a time for rest in our week to recuperate, and what I learned the day after Thanksgiving while braving the mall early in the morning.

  • In my Faith Is… blog, I define “faith” as stated in the Bible as well as give examples of Biblical characters of great faith. The Bible is full of scriptures regarding faith and the importance of applying it in our own lives.
  • Is There Ever A Time to Be Violent? I believe the answer is yes, but it does depend on what you consider to be violent and under what circumstances you would behave in such a way. In this blog I’ve outlined circumstances such as: someone personally offending you, a place for violence within the government, a time when Jesus became what many would consider as violent, I also talked about what the Bible has to say about our behavior toward other brothers and sisters in Christ.
  • Why We Need a Sabbath was inspired by a Sunday morning message at church. I talk in this blog about the significance of a Sabbath rest in our lives. Even God took a rest and tells us to do the same. Taking a Sabbath rest can be a time where you can be recharged spiritually, relationally, emotionally and physically after a draining week.
  • I wrote my blog about Black Friday after dragging my tired bones to the mall. While there and trying to get in on the sought after door-buster sales, I started to make a correlation of the situation at hand and my Christian walk. If you’ve ever been one to brave the day after Thanksgiving sales, likely you’ll relate well to what I’ve written. By the way, Robo is our newest member to our family and yes, it was worth it!
