Week in Review: Our Messiah to Children and Spiritual Battles

This week I wanted to address the Biblical prophesy of Jesus Christ our Messiah, the many dispensations of time in the Bible, and work on a two part series about children and the devil; one addressing when to tell your children about him and the other on giving your kids the tools for protecting themselves in their lives through by the power of God.

  • In Jesus, Our Promised Messiah I touched on statistically how likely it is that Jesus is the messiah who was foretold throughout the Bible. Within, I provided a link that addresses 365 scriptures that He has fulfilled. I have heard there were closer to 500 but over 300 will suffice for me.
  • Though there are some differing views between dispensationalists and denominations as to how many dispensations there are in the Bible, in my blog Dispensations of the Bible I covered the more common seven and eight. In researching this, I found interesting the differing means God used for salvation during each dispensation of time which served a purpose for dealing with man.
  • When and What to Tell Your Children about the Devil is so important since our hope should not be to fill our children with fear or insecurity. In this blog I share how my son learned about the enemy of his soul. I also touched on the importance of teaching children accountability; taking responsibility for their own actions and not blaming things on the devil.
  • In Equipping Children for Spiritual Battle I talk about simple things we can tell our children to do when they feel temptation. I also include scriptures that relate to my points. I think it’s so important that we as parents provide our children with tools for seeking God and resisting sin, especially since one day they likely won’t be under our consistent influence. We have an important responsibility to pray for them too.
