Here is when to buy what. This list is based on personal experience and a recent report by Consumer Reports Magazine. Of course, you should still check the clearance racks and corners of your local store. Sometimes individual stores decide to clear out inventory at strange times. I once saw a lot of Halloween related items on sale in January, for example.

Camping and outdoor gear, lawn mowers, small electronics, carpeting, cordless phones, sports and athletic apparel, sneakers.
