What is Your Six Month Old Up To?

My little guy is 6 months old today! Six months!! To me, it seems like yesterday that he was born, and now, he’s been a part of our family for half a year.

This stage is so much fun. As far as mobility, he has mastered rolling over, and loves to bounce his legs. When you hold him on your lap, he just wants to stand up and bounce. This is the stage where the bouncy chair comes in very handy! He can easily get any object into his mouth, and he is quick. So, he has been nicknamed grabby hands at our house because if it is within his reach, you better believe that he is going to grab it! He is starting to be content on his belly for longer periods of time too. So, floor time is also more fun. He is a busy little man when he is awake.

He is finally becoming my dream baby since switching to formula when it comes to sleep. He is sleeping great for naps and at night. He takes two naps during the day anywhere from 1 hour to 2 each. At night, he is waking up once around midnight and again in the early morning hours, but this is a big improvement from our days of being up every hour and a half. Many times, he will be awake when we lay him down and he will go to sleep on his own. Neither of my other two kids ever did that!

He is babbling a lot now too. He has been caught saying ga ga and da da. I am working on the ma ma, but he just smiles at me when I say it to him. He interacts a lot more with everyone in the family and he is just so much fun!

We have not started solids, but I hope to do so soon. I’m not looking forward to it as we finally seemed to get him to “normal” just recently. But, I am hoping and praying that as soon as we start introducing solids, he will do fine with that too.

There is nothing so sweet as a 6 month old baby that smiles, babbles, laughs, and snuggles. I could let him stay in this stage forever so I could always kiss those sweet chubby cheeks, and make him laugh all day long.
