Did you want to be a firefighter when you were little, or a doctor, a veterinarian, or a rock star? You may have had big ideas when you were a kid, but when is the last time you thought about finding your dream job?
Most of us get so caught up just trying to make a living that we don’t put a lot of thought into it. We do what we can or what we have to in order to earn an income and pay the bills. What if you earn a living doing something you really love? You can.
It’s never too late to start and you can obtain more education or improve the skills you need to land your dream job. You may think that you work so much now that you could never find time, but the internet is a wonderful tool. You can take online courses and even earn degrees online at your own pace. Stuck with slow dial up? Opt for a correspondence course via regular mail.
Heck, you might even find a job that allows you to telecommute. How many people would love to work at home?
Give it some thought. If you don’t already know what it is, figure out what would qualify as a dream job for you. Make a list of things you need to do to make it happen. Set out reasonable goals and begin taking steps to bring those goals to fruition.
You may have to be creative, but you can make it work. That might mean doing what you love part time until you can earn enough doing it to quit your regular job. It may take some sacrifices initially, but when you are finally making a living doing what you love, you’ll find it was well worth the effort.
