Where the Heart Is Scrapbook Decor

Using your scrapbook products for home décor is a great way to add a personal touch to your home.

One company that wants to help you use your scrapbooking talents in home decorating is Where the Heart Is. This company offers a variety of lamps that are ready to be altered. You can alter the lampshade, center post and base of the lamp to match the theme of any room.

Five of the lamps that they offer have wooden blocks at the base of the lamp. These blocks can be altered and then stacked around the base. Some of the blocks come cut in half with a notch for the center post so that you can alter the block and then fit it around the post.

Two of the lamps have paint cans at the base. You have your choice of two different sizes. Altered paint can have become a favorite project of many scrapbookers and not you could take it a step further by using the paint can as part of a lamp.

The lamp kits range in price from $42.99 to $59.99.

You may be unsure about how you would attach things to the wood blocks or paint can. I recommend using Modge Podge to attach a paper base to any surface that you are going to cover. Use a foam paint brush to apply the glue to the back of the paper and then use a brayer to run back and forth across the paper to help push out any air bubbles that may form.

If you want to attach other items, you may want to consider using a hot glue gun or glue dots. Use the glue gun for heavier items that require a really strong hold. The glue dots would be perfect for attaching wooden or paper accents to your project.

These lamps would be a great addition to any room in your home, or better yet, a gift for someone who seems to already have everything.
