Which Super Bowl Ad Was Your Favorite?

The results have been tabulated and the winner of the most-watched Super Bowl commercial is…

The Go Daddy Web site’s “enhancement” ad with Danica Patrick.

The results are courtesy of TiVo, Inc., which determined the winner by combining the number of people who watched the ad live with those who went back to see it again on their digital video recorder.

According to Go Daddy bigwigs, placing their ad in the game’s final few minutes paid off big time. Execs with the company say they took a big risk by purchasing ad space so late in the game. Had the game been a blowout, viewers would have tuned out. But, since the game between Pittsburgh and Arizona turned out to be a nail biter with the final score coming in the last 61 seconds, Go Daddy came out a big winner.

Did you like the Go Daddy ad?

I didn’t find it particularly memorable. Ditto for the Budweiser “Fetch” commercial, which featured one of the beer company’s trademark Clydesdale horses wanting to play fetch like the Dalmatian, but instead of fetching a stick, it fetches an entire branch. The E*TRADE baby ads got a lot of hype, but I wasn’t all that impressed with them either.

My favorites were:

The HULU ad with Alec Baldwin. I’ll never get over the way he treated his daughter, but you can’t deny that he is a great actor. Though, I’m not sure his role last night was much of a stretch.

Pepsi’s “Forever Young” ad wasn’t bad either. It featured a mix of old and new images, plus they threw in Bob Dylan and Will.i.am—-can’t go wrong there.

Denny’s also did a decent job with their ads. The gangsters at the diner, where the waitress kept adding whipped cream to their pancakes, was a bit funnier than the dancing banana one; though both were worth watching.

The Doritos commercial created by two unemployed brothers from Indiana was pretty good too. The ad won an online contest for amateurs. The brothers collected $1 million for their masterpiece dubbed “Free Doritos.” The commercial features a guy who shatters a vending machine with his crystal ball after predicting free Doritos for everyone in the office.

My all-time favorites of the night came from Bridgestone Tires. The spot where the space travelers got their wheels ripped off and their moon-buggy was up on blocks was a hoot as was the Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head ad where the Missus was forced to use her evil eyes when her mouth took a dive down a cliff thanks to her hubby and a herd of sheep.
