Actress Winona Ryder was hospitalized briefly yesterday. She was on a flight from Los Angeles to London when she suddenly fell ill, causing the airplane to make a special landing. Before the flight landed at Heathrow Airport, the British Airways pilot radioed the air traffic control tower to notify them that a female passenger on board was in need of medical attention. A statement from British Airways said “Our cabin crew looked after [Ryder] as much as they could onboard and our passenger services staff also accompanied her to the hospital. We wish her well.”

Ryder was taken to West London hospital, but her publicist Mara Buxbaum said it was just as a precaution, she had already been released, and is doing fine. However, the statement said nothing about what the mysterious illness was. There are rumors circulating that Ryder passed out on the flight and was unconscious. Rediff (http://inhome.rediff.com/movies/2008/nov/20winonas-scary-ride.htm) is also reporting that other passengers noticed her slumped forward and that she was taken off the flight on a stretcher.
Don’t look for Julianne Hough next season on “Dancing with the Stars” – she won’t be there! Hough said today that four seasons and two trophies were enough for her. She told Ryan Seacrest “I’m not gonna be back next season.” She already missed a few episodes of the show this season after being sidelined by her appendix in October.
Hough said she wants to focus on her music and hinted that continuing to appear on the dancing show might make people take her less seriously about her singing career. If you want to hear more from Hough, you can get her new Christmas album from Target.
What else did Hough have to say to Seacrest? She admitted that she and boyfriend/country singer Chuck Wicks are serious. When Seacrest asked her if she was in love, Hough replied, “Yeah, I am” with a giggle.
It’s a bit sad though – Hough went out on a losing note as she and her celebrity partner “Hanna Montana” star Cody Linley were eliminated in fourth place last night.
