The Bath Time Circus

Giving my kids baths has always been a fun experience when they are babies. They love to splash and kick, the warm water soothes them, and my babies have all loved bath time. From the Bath to the Pool Part II

My daughter’s first visit to the pool only required her swim diaper and bathing suit because I knew that we would only stay for thirty minutes or so. Applying sunscreen and blowing up her boat like water floaty seemed like too much for our first time out. One of the most stressful times for a new parent can be giving your baby that first bath. You worry about how to hold them, what kind of tub to buy, and what will work best. Why You Shouldn’t Bathe Your Baby. . .

. . .every day. I don’t know how many of you do this. Maybe our family is disgustingly dirty and I just didn’t realize it. But I have never, not at any point in my babies’ lives, bathed them once a day unless every day they were out playing in dirt. Since little babies can’t play in dirt until they’re mobile, they were bathed once or twice a week.
