Chocolate Festival Sabotage

I just learned that there will be the 1st annual Chocolate Festival nearby in a couple of weeks. They are featuring an “All You Can Eat” Chocolate Buffet. Hmm, do I dare go? I have to go because I have never been to one and I have to see what it is all about. There are going to be demonstrations, activities, and raffles as well. This should be interesting.

Actually, chocolate has a lot of good in it, but for a dieter eating chocolate can make you lose your “mind over matter” motto. Every once in a while, especially if you have stuck to your diet it is okay to indulge just a wee bit in something like a piece of chocolate. To deny yourself totally of the things that we love and crave only sets us up for failure later on. If you never give yourself a little treat when you do encounter something such as a chocolate festival or a candy store you are most likely going to lose it and wind up doing yourself in with several pieces of chocolate or whatever goodie you crave.

Follow your diet faithfully. Get your exercise in, no slacking. This should be for at least three times a week for 30 minutes at a time. No snacking in between meals. Drink plenty of water each and every day. At the end of the week, if you have done all of these things without fail, then reward yourself with something such as a goodie (make it small) that you have been wanting or one of those fantastic iced cappuccino drinks. You might even treat yourself to something that money cannot buy, such as a luxurious bubble bath.

You work hard at work, at dieting, and at taking care of others. Now it is your turn.
