Christmas is on December 27th this Year

gift-1416350-mIn case you haven’t heard, there has been a change in the calendar for Christmas Day. No longer celebrated on December 25th, as it has been traditionally. This year, Christmas falls on December 27th. News Year Eve will be celebrated on December 30th or on January 3rd. Is this for real? Yes.

That is, it is for real for many people who decide to save money, into the hundreds of dollars by celebrating Christmas and New Years on days that most of us don’t.

Celebrating the major holidays on off-days is a trend that has been embraced by more and more people, both singles and families in order to celebrate the way they want within a limited budget.

How can you save by celebrating on an off day? Everything is simply cheaper, from airfare to gift wrap. Imagine if you got a big fat check for half or even 75 percent of the amount of money you spent last year? You can see how the significant savings can make having Christmas a few days later well worth doing it when everyone else doesn’t.

Okay, let us talk about the inconvenience. How hard is it to celebrate Christmas or New Years on a day no one else is? Well, it can be very convenient actually. Everything is less crowded in addition to being cheaper. You may find that every’s schedules open up, so your fabulous party or fun lunch date does not have to compete with all of the other events that your friends and family have committed to attending.

For Christmas, it is most effective to celebrate after the calendar date, for the most savings. With New Years. it can really go either way. Celebrating early will save you as much as celebrating the holidays late. Consider jumping on this trend and celebrate the savings as well as the holidays.
