Coast2Coast Rx is not Insurance – But is Helpful

medicine Have you heard about the Coast2Coast Rx card? It isn’t health insurance, but it could save you some money on prescription medication. From the research that I have done, the Coast2Coast card seems a whole lot more legitimate than the Rx Relief card is. Coast2Coast Rx got an A+ rating from the BBB.

This week, I have learned about two, entirely different, cards that can be used to get a discount on prescription medication. I cannot help but wonder if these things are suddenly “popping out of the woodwork” because there are so many Americans who are currently without health insurance coverage.

Before you start using a discount card, it is advisable that you do some research about the company that is offering it. Find out what is required of you in order to use the card. It is not unheard of for a company to offer a person a discount card, for free, in exchange for access to that person’s personal information. Many times, this exchange isn’t made clear at the time the person chooses to start using the discount card.

Previously, my research on the Rx Relief card showed that this was something that people should avoid. The Rx Relief card is not a form of health insurance, it is simply a card that can give people a discount on their prescription medications. The front of the card says “Rx Relief”, the back says “Script Relief”, and the letter it came with says “Healthcare Alliance”. This is confusing. The Better Business Bureau gave Script Relief an F rating (on a scale from A+ to F).

The Coast2Coast Rx card is also not a form of insurance. It, too, is a card that can help a person to get a discount on his or her prescription medication. It is being offered by a company called Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc., of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The Better Business Bureau gave this company an A+ (on a scale from A+ to F).

If you have health insurance, you cannot use the Coast2Coast Rx card on prescriptions that are already covered by your health insurance plan. You can use it on the drugs that your plan doesn’t cover, though. In addition to prescriptions, the card can be used to get a discount on dental needs, vision needs, hearing needs, diabetes supplies, lab and imaging tests, and even veterinary service for pets.

I found out about the Rx Relief card because someone randomly mailed it to my house. I found out about the Coast2Coast Rx card because my local newspaper wrote an article about it. I learned that the Coast2Coast card has the backing of the county Board of supervisors and the support of the local United Way. The Coast2Coast card sounds very legitimate, and I am considering giving it a try.
