Coupon Book for Mom

You may have seen this idea before, but I really like this one. Make up a cool coupon book for Mom, and let her redeem her special coupons for lots of hugs, help with chores and maybe a nice neck or shoulder massage. Get creative with coupon ideas and make them for thoughtful things that your mom will appreciate.

Don’t just write your ideas out on paper; make the coupons really fancy. Decorate them nicely and add personal messages that let Mom know how much she means to you. Add little pictures too, if you like.

If two siblings are making coupons, a cute idea is to make copies of a picture of each child. Attach a copy of a picture of each child’s smiling face to each of his or her coupons instead of having children write their names or sign them. Mom will know exactly which surprise is from whom, and she’ll be delighted.

Cut a piece of colored paper into a rectangular shape. You can trace a dollar bill for a good size (about 6″ wide by 3″ high) and add a smaller piece in a contrasting color on top. The second piece should be about 4″ wide by 2″ high. Glue it to the first piece, but don’t center it. Place it about 1 ½” from the right side. This will leave room at the left to staple the coupons together. Once attached, trim this piece with rickrack. This is where your message will appear. The message can be hand written or printed from your computer.

Coupons

When you have finished making coupons, stack them up neatly and staple them together from the left side. You might need to make more than one coupon book, if you do not have big enough staples to hold them all together.

Wrap up your finished coupon with your own wrapping paper. This gift will fit inside a standard size sheet of paper, so grab a sheet and decorate it nicely for Mom.
