Dad in Denial

left

Can money really solve your biggest problems?

A billionaire dad is really, really hoping it can.

Cecil Chao is so livid that his smoking hot daughter, Gigi, recently wed her same-sex partner that he is offering a $65 million “marriage bounty” to any man who can get her to change her sexual preference.

In other words, the 76-year-old Hong Kong business tycoon is in complete denial that his darling daughter is a lesbian and is willing to pay a pretty penny to any guy who can turn her straight.

Denial is not an unusual parental reaction upon learning about a child’s sexuality; however, Chao’s public plea and multi-million dollar cash incentive doesn’t exactly scream unconditional love. Far from it. Then again, what do you expect from a dad who claims he has bedded more than 10,000 women and is determined to dictate the sexuality of his own children?

For the record, Gigi is the oldest of Chao’s three children, which he spawned with three different women, none of whom he married. In fact, Chao has never wed and he refuses to acknowledge that Gigi exchanged vows with her lesbian lover.

According to the South China Morning Post, Chao vehemently dismisses “false reports” of his daughter’s gay union and insists she is still single.

“I don’t mind whether he is rich or poor – the important thing is that he is generous and kind hearted,” Chao told the paper of the ideal husband for his daughter.

Should a male suitor find a way to woo Gigi away from her new spouse he would score the cash and Chao says he would also help his future son-in-law start his own business.

As for Gigi’s reaction to her dad’s crazy scheme, she told the BBC that it was “entertaining,” but isn’t giving it much thought.

What do you make of this dad’s outrageous display of denial?
