Does Your Household Product Meet the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval?

You are probably familiar with the magazine, “Good Housekeeping.” It has been in circulation for 100 years now. That is pretty amazing.

One of the unique features is the “Good Housekeeping Seal.” This is a list of products that have been approved under their stringent judgments. The seal actually guarantees consumers that if they purchase a product with their seal and it is found to be defective within two years from the date it was purchased, they will receive a replacement, refund or repair kit.

So needless to say, you pretty much can’t go wrong when you purchase a product that has the “Good Housekeeping Seal.” They have also put in place the “Green Good Housekeeping Seal” for those who are looking to purchase green-friendly products.

Want to know if your favorite products are on the list? You can view an alphabetical listing of the products that are seal-approved.

In this blog I did want to share four of their featured household products. The first is their seal-approved air purifier, “Blueair 201.” It effectively removes dust, pollen and smoke in a 200 square foot room. The cost is $385.

Another seal-approved product is the “Carafe Kitchen Faucet” made from Kohler. This faucet is able to provide both filtered and unfiltered water. The cost is $616.

The next seal-approved product is what I consider a real gem. What one thing in the house collects grime and germs and is very difficult to clean? It is the keyboard and mouse to the computer. “Seal Shield Keyboard and Mouse” is waterproof. So you can actually clean the keyboard by running it under water. The cost is $100.

Finally, a seal-approved product that can actually detect pet stains in carpeting, called the “Purpose for Pets Portable Extractor.” It not only cleans carpets but has a light that reveals invisible pet stains. The cost is $100.

The next time you are looking to purchase a product for the home, you just might want to first visit “Good Housekeeping” and see if it has received their seal of approval. This way you can feel more secure in making that purchase.
