Well we are only a few months into being parents and so far we have been called to school for stealing and getting naked by no trips to the emergency room. Well that changed one night when I was home with the boys and my husband was at a concert.
I had already fed the boys and we were doing baths, I did George first because he was easy. When I was helping Steve who is only three with his bath first we played with some toys and when it came time to wash his hair he did not want to lay back. Steve was afraid to have his head in water. If we tried to lay him back he would always start crying, so we either used a hand held shower to wet and rinse his hair or we used the cup. George we always used the cup so I grabbed the cup and started pouring the water on Steve’s head. I guess I startled him because he jumped up and hit his head on the soap holder splitting his eye brow open.
I am not sure if I mentioned it or not but I am very squeamish I have no stomach for blood and eye brows bleed a lot. So I have a crying wet kid in the bathtub with blood pouring out of his head and I am doing my best not to faint or throw up. Luckily my mom was at the house and she helped me get him out of the tub and watched George while I took Steve to the hospital.
Now I am freaking out driving to the hospital with a little kid oozing blood, when we arrived luckily for me they took us right back. The nurse had me hold pressure on it and then the fun began. The doctor came in and began flushing the cut with saline and then said that it was too close to his eye to use the super glue thing and that he would need stitches.
So we had to hold him still while they stitched him up. When my husband got home from the concert the ordeal was over, we were already home surviving our first trip to the ER.
