Online Streaming of Fitness Classes

Today in my neck of the woods (Wisconsin), I am feeling pretty grateful for unseasonably warmer weather. Yesterday we hit as high as the mid 50’s and today we are in the 40’s. It is quite a contrast from a year ago when we were digging ourselves out after receiving more than two feet of snow. Winter can be a difficult time to exercise. It becomes especially challenging when the clouds are grey, the temperatures are frigid or there is a ton of snow. Who wants to go out in that? Maybe it’s not even the weather. Maybe you are … Continue reading

Fitness Trends Predicted for 2012

There are already predictions out for what the top 20 fitness trends for 2012 will be. This is according to a survey conducted by the “American College of Sports Medicine.” One of the fitness programs that is said will make this list is (no surprise) Zumba, something I recently blogged about, as it is coming out on Kinect for Xbox 360 in February, 2012. Not only Zumba but other dance workouts will likely be a fitness trend for 2012. The dance wave is hitting fitness centers, classes and video game systems worldwide. Another trend that is predicted is the increase … Continue reading

Fitness Tax: Personal Health Investment Today Act

Hey, it’s tax day (don’t panic, you still have until Tuesday at midnight to file) so I thought we could spend a few minutes talking about taxes, deductions and credits. A few months back, I wrote about the fitness tax credit being offered to Canadian taxpayers and what a great idea I thought that would be if we had something similar here in the States. As it turns out, there was a bill introduced in the 109th Congress that ended up in Ways and Means and stalled there. The bill received very little media attention and it was not reviewed … Continue reading
