Free Movie Downloads

When we first got married we did not want to pay the cost for premium movie channels. We rented movies a lot instead. Back then Blockbuster video was the place to rent videos and the rental card we had earned rewards too. We have had premium movie channels off and on throughout our marriage. The original programming was always more entertaining than the movies offered. The best package we had was when we were with Verizon FiOS and had on-demand movies and television shows. My sister and I watched old movies all weekend the first time she visited us in Texas.

We eventually got tired of paying for the premium channels. Big Love and Dexter weren’t enough to keep us after we discovered that we weren’t watching anything else on those channels. My mom so enjoyed having movies available to her that she offered to pay for the channels if we’d have them during one of her visits. We didn’t keep the channels, though; because nothing was on that we were interested in.

I’ve been considering signing up for Netflix. It’s much more affordable than movie channels with greater selection. My parents and sister both have it and really enjoy it. The biggest incentive for me is that we can get Netflix through our Wii. We won’t have to wait for DVDs and be responsible for returning them before we can get more. Is $9 a month worth it when we have so many TV shows we watch?

I’ve learned that we can download movies and television shows for free from Amazon because I’m an Amazon Prime member. Free is great. The drawback is that not all movies are offered for free. The other negative is that we’d have to spend money to be able to download to the TV. Free is good, but Netflix is more convenient.
