Get Free Coffee From Starbucks On Earth Day

travel mug Earth Day is on Friday, April 22. It is a day when people focus a little more than usual on the impact that we have on this planet. It is an opportunity to make greener choices. It is also a day to go get some free coffee from Starbucks, when you bring in a reusable mug or tumbler for the barista to fill.

I am a big fan of Starbucks. I go there a few times a week, at least, and greatly enjoy dropping everything to make a run to Starbucks. It makes my day a little bit brighter. One of the things I like about Starbucks is that it seems to be a company that has a greener philosophy than many other places do.

They sell reusable coffee mugs, tumblers, and travel mugs, right there in the Starbucks. You can bring one of these into Starbucks, (or a mug that didn’t originally come from Starbucks), and have the barista fill it with your coffee, thereby avoiding having to use a plastic cup. You will not be allowed to use your own mug at McCafe, or other places that sell coffee.

Friday, April 22, 2011, is Earth Day. This is a day when people tend to focus on the impact that humans have on the Earth, and it’s resources. This is the day to take shorter showers, and turn off the water while you are actively brushing your teeth. It’s a day to really think about recycling, instead of throwing something into the trash. This is a day when many people will be more conscious about the lights they left on in rooms that no one is currently occupying. Ideally, these types of behaviors will become habit, and will help the Earth.

Starbucks is participating in Earth Day by offering free coffee. Bring in your reusable mug or tumbler to Starbucks, and they will fill it with a free brewed coffee or tea. You can get your tea or coffee hot, or iced, whichever you prefer. This deal will happen in participating Starbucks stores that are located in the United States or Canada. Starbucks wants to reward people who are helping to reduce our environmental impact, and also to encourage the use of tumblers and travel mugs in people’s daily routines.

Don’t have a reusable mug to bring in? You can purchase one from Starbucks for 20% off the original price on April 22, 2011, Earth Day. After Earth Day is over, you can still bring your reusable tumbler or travel mug to Starbucks, and have the barista fill it with your drink. They will even give you ten cents off of your drink, just for using your own mug.
