Get Organized – With Toilet Paper Rolls?

toilet paper roll

Have you heard about the new wonder product? It’s cheap, it’s effective for organizing, and amazingly, it’s found in your very own home! Why yes, I am talking about paper towel and toilet paper rolls.

I’ll be using paper towel rolls in the garden, where the squirrels are avidly chewing up my corn from the roots. By giving them a bit of a shield to chew through, I’m hoping to deter them from the corn. Move on to the weeds, please!

Cords: we all have them in abundance, usually in a tangled mess behind our appliances. Line the rolls with cords, and the cords will stay straight. Plus, you can label the rolls with the names of the cords for easy search and find.

Do you have kids who have a billion silly bands or hair ties? Use a toilet paper roll to organize hair elastics so that they don’t migrate around the house.

If you have iPods and phones coming out of your ears, you also have a little pile of chargers. Use toilet paper rolls to house and label your electronics chargers so you don’t have to go searching through the pile.

Use toilet paper tubes to organize your growing seeds. Label the tubes with the seed’s name, place the tubes on end in a plastic bin, then fill them with soil and a seed. Lift them out with your hand below them and transfer the seeds easily into the garden.

How about organizing your craft supplies with decorated tubes? Chenille stems, scissors, and different types of pencils can all stand proud in those toilet paper rolls. So can commonly used tools!

Of course, while you’re organizing, you need something for the kids to do. You can also use paper towel and toilet paper rolls to do children’s crafts. Paper towel rolls are excellent for building log cabins, although you do need to stick them together with tape or glue. Add a head or legs to a toilet paper rolls, and you have great little paper animals!
