Girls Night: It’s a Must!

I’ve started a new little tradition with a couple of my closest girlfriends. Every other weekend we try to have a night just for us girls. We go out to dinner, raid thrift stores, do crafts, and talk about anything and everything until all hours of the morning. For a long time I didn’t make my friends a real priority in my life. I was going to school full time, raising a child on my own, and trying my hardest to keep up on everything. I didn’t feel like I had time for friends anymore. It wasn’t until this past year that I realized just how much I had been missing out on.

My girlfriends are among my biggest supporters. They know me inside and out and are constantly doing anything they possibly can to serve me and Logan. They both have driven us to and from the train on countless occasions, have watched him so I could take tests at school, and have spoiled us through and through about any chance they get. Logan loves them and insists on having play dates as often as possible. While we love our play time with Logan it is nice to be able to look forward to our girls time every other week too.

This is a time when we can just be girly. It’s a time when all other cares fly out the window. I don’t have to focus on all the stresses of my life, instead we just spend time together laughing and talking. They lift me up and always make me feel so good. Each time they are around I feel like I am surrounded by greatness, because they truly are the most wonderful and genuinely good girls I have ever met. Having this time with them has made me be able to handle the little ups and downs of being divorced and has helped me keep things in perspective. They have been such a blessing in my life and I am so thankful that every other weekend we have a night to just be girls!
