Halloween Events for Kids

halloween-events-for-kids-find-more-family-blogs-at-families-comYour kids might be super excited about celebrating Halloween. While some Halloween events are specifically geared for children, there are others that might be too scary for little ones to attend. Here is a list of some kid-friendly Halloween events that are taking place this year.

Disney Store Halloween Dress Rehearsal Event
The Disney Store near you might be having a Halloween Dress Rehearsal Event. Children must be at least three years of age in order to participate. Kids are to arrive dressed in their favorite Disney character costume.

The event will take place on Friday, October 5, 2016, between 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm. The Costume Parade portion of the event will occur at 5:30 pm and again at 6:30 pm. The Disney Store Halloween Dress Rehearsal Event will also happen on Saturday, October 6, 2016, and will take place from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. The Costume Parade will happen at 11:30 am and again at 12:30 am.

It would be a good idea to call your local Disney Store before you leave the house. The event is “limited per session based on store capacity”. People can line up for the event no earlier than 30 minutes before it starts. There is a chance that the Disney Store closest to you might not be holding these events.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Walt Disney World holds Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party every year. The characters in the park are dressed in their Halloween costumes.

Kids (age 13 and younger) can dress in their own Halloween costumes and collect candies, sweets, and treats at Disney World. The event lasts through October 31, 2016. Families that want to attend should read over the rules about appropriate costumes before you visit.

Pottery Barn Kids
Pottery Barn Kids will hold a Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 3:00 pm. Children should dress in costume. There will be Halloween activities and treats from Annie’s. RSVP is required.

Pottery Barn Kids is also holding a Pumpkin Decorating Event on Saturday, October 22, at 11:00 am. RSVP is required. Purchase a Pottery Barn Kids Pumpkin Placemat at your local store to reserve a spot. All kids will find their placemat with a pumpkin for decorating at the event. Snacks will be provided.

Six Flags Fright Fest
The Six Flag Fright Fest happens every year. Check their website to see if the Six Flags near you is participating. The park stays family-friendly by day, but they “turn up the terror” at dusk.

The Six Flag Fright fest is not recommended for children under 13 or anyone who scares easily. Your teenager might enjoy it. The Six Flags Fright fest is happening now, and will continue after dusk through Sunday, October 30, 2016.
