Have Fun Toasting Mom

toastsAll that I am or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.”

Those wise words are courtesy of the late, great Abraham Lincoln.  The 16th President of the United States knew a thing or two about waxing poetic, especially when it involved his dearly beloved mother.

Lincoln’s mom Nancy died when Abe was just nine years old.

Whether your mom is with you physically or in spirit tomorrow is the day set aside to celebrate the blood, sweat and tears she has shed to make you the person you are.

Make it a Mother’s Day to remember by honoring your mom with a special toast.  Raise a glass of orange juice at brunch, tea at lunch or champagne at dinner and say the following with a smile as you reminisce about all the fun times you’ve shared together:

“Here’s to the happiest hours of my life spent in the arms of another man’s wife–
My mother!”

“To mom, for fulfilling one of the oldest human needs, having someone to wonder where you are when you don’t come home at night.”

“A mother is a person who, seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never cared for pie.”

“Mothers of teenagers know why animals eat their young.”

“There is only one pretty child in the world, and every mother has it.”

“Mother is the bank where we deposit all our hurts and worries.”

“A mother loves her children even when they least deserve to be loved.  Thanks, Mom.”

“A mother understands what a child does not say.”

“A man loves his wife the best, but his mother the longest.”

“To the mother who bore me, there’s no one more bold; she’s dearer by far
than all of earth’s gold.”

Cheers to all you moms.  May your Mother’s Day be full of love and laughter.
