Have Some Fun With Your Gender Reveal

Many couples eagerly await the day when they find out whether they are expecting a little girl or a little boy. With each of my pregnancies, I chose to find out my baby’s gender. Both times, I was overjoyed to learn that I was having a little boy. Unfortunately, I simply disclosed what I learned to my husband, friends, and family by talking to them. It did not occur to me that I could have done something clever to reveal the exciting news to my friends and family.

If you are excited to find out the gender of your baby, why not try one of these fun ideas for sharing the news. As an added bonus, some of these ideas incorporate food, so they might satisfy your sweet tooth. One fun idea involves making cupcakes that look ordinary, such as vanilla cupcakes, and using a pastry bag to squeeze blue or pink tinted creamy filling into the middles of the cupcakes before frosting them with an ordinary – looking chocolate frosting. That way, baby’s gender will be top secret until someone takes a bite.

Other gender revealing sweet treats involve products that you can order online with custom labels. For example, you can design custom labels on the Jones Soda website and order a batch for the party or barbecue where you plan to announce the gender. Halloween is coming, so why not use candy bars to announce the news. You can order Hershey’s Bars online with custom wrappers indicating the gender. In fact, some of the design choices use the Hershey name as part of the fun. They say “Heresheis” or “Hereheis” on the wrapper.

Other fun ideas include making a neutral colored piñata and filling it with pink or blue candy and confetti, wrapping a pink or blue onesie and opening it at your birthday party, baby shower, or Christmas gathering, or sending out photos of your belly with the word “boy” or “girl” written on it.

What will you do to reveal the gender of your little one? Are you even planning on finding out the gender? Some people are actually able to wait until delivery day to find out the big news. I got too excited and really wanted to know both times, even though I had initially started out thinking that I would let the gender be a surprise. That came as no surprise to anyone who knows me closely, because I am one of those people who gets so excited when I get a great gift for someone that I usually end up spilling the beans before it is time to give the gift.
