Is your Home-life too busy for some Family Fun?

Sometimes, even the good things in life can seem like another source of stress or feel like just another expense in growing pile of bills. It’s sad, but it happens. We just have so much going on that it can be overwhelming. It seems like there isn’t even time to relax and have a little fun. That’s when we have to get organized and make time.

We all need something to look forward to… Even a simple, inexpensive outing or night of fun at home can make a huge difference.

You can find some great ideas in the Family Fun Blog. You can also try reading some jokes and then sharing them with family members or try just being silly for a while to lighten things up.

Turn on some music and make up a silly dance. It’s bound to be good for a few laughs and it’s good exercise too.

Squeezing some time from other areas can help sometimes too. Maybe your little one can finish his or her reading homework in the car on the way home from school. Then, when you arrive at home, you’ll have a little extra time to do something else like play a game. You might even want to let the kids stay up just a bit later one night to get in some family fun time.

Have a simple supper or prepare dinner ahead of time so it just needs to be warmed up quickly when it’s time to eat. Cooking ahead can be a great way to free up some time on those busy days.

Just taking a walk together and discussing the days events can be very calming and can actually become a fun family routine. It’s good exercise as well as a good way to connect after being away from each other throughout the day.

If you’re just too tired to go out walking (and it happens) you might just spend some time sitting together outdoors, enjoying each other’s company. There’s no rule against playing cards or board games on the picnic table either.

On days when the whether won’t cooperate, try some new indoor activities. I’ve even found that simply sitting down to color a picture with my youngest can be fun for both of us. We can create something together while she tells me what’s going on in her world.

Some days it’s harder to make time than others, but it’s definitely worth the effort.

Have some fun!
