Is Your Weight Holding You Back?

You are on the right track by trying to get into shape and learning all that you can about healthy nutrition. If you are currently dieting and trying to get back into shape this is the first step in being a healthier you. However, do not let being overweight hold you back from doing things in other areas of your life that will affect your quality of life. Instead focus on yourself as a whole person and not just an overweight person. The weight loss will come as long as you are dedicated to losing your excess weight, but it will take some time. It does not happen overnight, although wouldn’t it be great if it did?

In the meantime, go out there and have some fun. Dance, go to the beach, play volleyball, run around, date. In fact, all of these things will contribute to your weight loss and accelerate your goal of becoming slimmer and healthier.

If you are overweight you are probably self-conscious about participating in any of the things that are listed, but try to overcome this, as you know that you are doing everything humanly possible to change your health status. To overcome this you might try taking on a different attitude. Think positive thoughts. Shrug off the looks or snickers that an overweight person might undergo by others. Vow not to worry about what other people think and concentrate only on what you want for yourself. Your goal is to lose the weight, but why should you miss out on life because of it?

Being an overweight person can make a person feel that they are not worthy of having a relationship with the opposite sex. Your confidence is probably very low. Often the opposite sex is attracted by the self-confidence that one portrays whether they are overweight or not. Self-confidence is an attractive quality. Fix yourself up and you will feel better about yourself. Be the best “you” that you can be. Put on a smile and hold your head up high. You would be surprised at how appealing this is to the opposite sex. There are many people who find thinness unattractive. There are many people that find a little extra “meat on the bones” to be very desirable.

Your goal for a slimmer and healthier body will be achieved in time, but in the meantime, go out there and enjoy life. Remember, your body is just one aspect of you. Your personality, charm, disposition, and outlook on life say far more.
