He’s courting Kate Hudson.
If there was any way to snuff out rumors that she was getting ready to walk down the aisle with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Owen Wilson, showing up on Armstrong’s arm three nights in a row would be it.
It is the headline of the weekend: “Armstrong and Hudson More than Just Friends!”
I’m not sure I’m buying this one. Yes, it’s hard to deny that the seven-time Tour de France winner and the actress have been getting chummy with one another given that photos of the couple sharing an intimate meal in Texas (on both Friday and Saturday nights) have been making the rounds in cyberspace. But, then again this is the same guy who was caught making out with Ashley Olsen a few months back and look what came of that—nothing.
Not that I would put Hudson in the same category as a spooky looking Olsen twin. After all, the 29-year-old divorced mother of one is known for being a “perceptive and astute young woman” (at least according to her famous mom Goldie Hawn). Perhaps, that’s what attracted Armstrong to her.
Regardless of how you categorize their current relationship the handsome athlete and gorgeous movie star appear to be enjoying each other’s company. The hoopla surrounding their coupling began last Thursday when they were spotted cuddling in a New York restaurant following Kid Rock’s Madison Square Garden concert.
The next day Hudson reportedly jumped on a private plane and flew to Armstrong’s home in Austin, Texas. While there the pair have been seen biking in city parks and dining with the cyclist’s three young children.
Tabloids following the couple say the two have quietly been dating for the past couple weeks. In fact, when news broke last week that Hudson had called it quits with Wilson the actress and Armstrong were already an item.
Frankly, if I were Wilson I wouldn’t get overly excited about this recent pairing. With “Love ’em and Leave ’em” Armstrong’s reputation for being so non-committal I have no doubt Hudson will be back on the market by the end of summer… if not sooner.
