LDS Family Week in Review: July 1-7

This has been a great week for celebrating the Fourth of July! Whether you followed the week as it happened, or just want to review it, this is a great tool for catching up on everything you missed!

Monday, July 2nd: In Pageant Time!, we reviewed the various pageants taking place across the United States. In General Conference: “Tabernacle Memories,” we reviewed President Monson’s talk on his memories of this wonderful, historic building. In Upholding Our Country, we talked about the relationship church members worldwide have with their countries. And in Dinner Discussions 2007 Week 24, we reviewed the various topics covered in church this past week.

Tuesday, July 3rd: In Church Interactive Music Player, we examined a cool tool found on the church’s website. In Primary Time: July Theme “My Family Can Follow Jesus Christ in Faith,” we examined this month’s sharing time theme. And in 10 Funniest Things at the Annual Ward Breakfast, we took a look at some of the funny things we might encounter at our Fourth of July breakfast.

Wednesday, July 4th: Happy Independence Day! In the only blog for today, Parables in the Book of Mormon, we discussed how we might get more out of the battle scenes than we might expect.

Thursday, July 5th: In Seven Songs You Won’t Find in the Hymnal, we sung a few songs not normally published in the LDS Hymnbook. In Gospel Doctrine: Watch With Me, we talked about how the Savior asked His disciples to comfort Him while He struggled in Gethsemane. In Teach Your Children About Their Heritage, we discussed the importance of sharing your family’s history with your kids. And in Young Women: The Benefits of Girls Camp, we discussed some benefits of sending your young women away…wait, that doesn’t sound right!

Friday, July 6th: In When the Answer is No, we examined our response when the Lord doesn’t give us the answer we wanted. In Gospel Doctrine: The Flesh is Weak, we discussed how sometimes our bodies and our spirits don’t seem to be on the same team. And in Organize Yourself, we talked about establishing a house of order.

Saturday, July 7th: In What is Sunday Best?, we talked about how we ought to be dressing for church. And in Helping Those with Special Needs, we discussed some ways to assist those who might need more help than most.
