LDS Week in Review – February 18th – 23rd

We had a wonderful week here in LDS. If you weren’t able to join us, here’s a quick summary so you can catch up.

We started the week with lesson #3 in our Joseph Smith manual, entitled “Jesus Christ: the Divine Redeemer of the World.” We learn that Jesus Christ is the only way by which we are able to return to Heaven and partake of the blessings that await us there.

Choosing the Best for Your Family” reminds us that the choices we make as parents will have an impact on our children’s lives, and that as we move forward with the administration of our families, we will want to frequently take inventory and make sure we’re on the right path.

In “Suggestions for Compassionate Service,” Miriam reminds us of this marvelous part of the Relief Society program and gives tips for how to organize the many tasks undertaken and how to keep them all in perspective.

Goals for Primary Children” points out that our children have the opportunity to set and achieve goals in Activity Days and Cub Scouts, but we can also set goals with our children at home, as well.

In “But They Were Married in the Temple,” Tristi explains that while temple marriage gives us the chance to be married eternally, it is not a magic wand. Marriage is hard work, and we must continually strive toward the goal of a celestial relationship.

We got a glimpse of the Gospel Doctrine classes, “Hearken to the Truth and Give Heed to It” and “Free to Choose Liberty and Eternal Life,” and we explored “Why Mormons Teach Abstinence.”

We were also told, “Do Not Fear.” We are facing the realities of war as well as economic instability, but if we follow the counsel that has been given us by the prophets, we can have peace during these troubled times.

Tristi answers the question, “What is a Patriarchal Blessing?” and continues the Scripture Study series with 1 Nephi 14:13-17. She also continues the Senior Missionary series by examining “Who Should Serve?” following guidelines given by President Gordon B. Hinckley.

Miriam rounded off the week with “Sunday School Classes,” which gives a brief overview of the many classes offered in your ward each Sunday, so you can best choose which class suits your needs.

Thank you for joining us here in LDS. Have a great week and we hope to see you again soon.
