Looking For My Waist: Hoodia Pops and Fasting

This is Gonna be a Good Week!

My scale is broken… or at least it needs new batteries. My kids’ scale says I weigh 245 lb. Goodbye Christmas pounds!

Last week, my hoodia pops came in the mail. They look and taste like any other lollipops (hint of an aftertaste) except that they contain the natural appetite suppressant hoodia and several other weight loss ingredients. They take forever to eat. Yesterday I drove all the way to the airport and halfway back with one in my mouth (about an hour). I try to use only one a day, but have found two to be more effective.

I have wondered if the amount of time it takes to eat one is what makes it really effective. After all, if you are laboring over a 25-calorie sucker for an hour, you would be consuming a lot less calories than you would normally have in that hour! However, I do know that there are some very effective ingredients because my insomnia is back with a vengeance… If only I could string together a sentence not weighed down with errors in the middle of the night!

I have not exercised as I said I would… my excuse is falling down the stairs last week. I was in bad shape. I feel better now.

These weeks’ stats:

245 lbs? (Not my usual scale), bust 45, waist 46, hips 52, Thighs 46, single arm 14

Dec 20, 2006 stats (first week):

250 lbs bust: 50, waist: 46, hips: 53, Thighs: 47, single arm: 15

My plan for this next week: The church is doing a fast, but that kind of deprivation can surely throw a diet completely off track with it is over…. It killed my weight watchers efforts a few years ago. I will do some kind of physical deprivation though in order to participate… they are so many options. As for dieting, I will keep eating more of what I know is healthy (whole foods), to leave little room for what is not. I will keep drinking lots of water, and I will get moving.
