More Late January Courses from Family Tree University

laptop in WinterThe weather outside is cold, and unpleasant to travel in. The dismal weather is probably here to stay for quite a while (depending on where you happen to live). Wouldn’t it be nice to take an online genealogy course from the comfort, and warmth, of your own home? Here are a few more courses from Family Tree University that will start later on this month.

Write Your Family History: Create a Captivating Record of Your Family Story
This course will begin on January 28, 2013 and continue through March 24, 2013. As you might have noticed, this course is going to last longer than a typical course will. It is an eight-week course. That is why the tuition is $199.99 (instead of the usual $99.99). The course will be instructed by Sunny Morton, who is a professional writer. Learn how to take the story of your own family’s history and weave it all together into a compelling story.

Finding African-American Ancestors in Newspapers: Research Strategies for Success
This course will start on January 28, 2013. It will end on February 24, 2013. The tuition is $99.99. The instructor for this course is Tim Pinnick. In this course, you will learn key background information for newspaper research, and tips and strategies that are designed to optimize your success. It is recommended that genealogists who want to take this course have a copy of Tim Pinnick’s book Finding and Using African American Newspapers.

First Steps: Discover Your Family Tree: Genealogy for the Absolute Beginner
This course is one of a series of courses that are designed for beginning genealogists. It will begin on January 28, 2013, and will end on February 10, 2013. The tuition is $19.99 (possibly to entice beginning genealogists to give it a try). It will be instructed by Lisa Alzo. Learn how to begin to discover your family tree, where to look for information to extend your family tree, and how to put it all together.

First Steps: Using Birth Records
This course is a shorter course, as well. It will begin on January 28, 2013, and will end on February 10, 2013. The tuition will be $39.99. This course will be instructed by Lisa Alzo. The course is part of their First Step Series for beginning genealogists. Learn the basics on how to find, analyze, an cite birth records for your United States Ancestors.

It is assumed that you understand the basic principles of genealogy before you take this course. (If you need to learn the basic principles, it is suggested that you take the Discover Your Family Tree course that is listed above).
