Mormon Channel Radio Station

There is a new Mormon Channel radio station that you can listen to. You can find the station on the Internet at radio.lds.org. You can also find it wherever there is a Bonneville Communications group in your area. You can stream the station on your computer. There is also the option to download specific programs as podcasts.

Currently the programming consists of a mixture of programs created for the station as well as rebroadcasts of conference talks, firesides and devotionals from BYU. There is a program called Scripture Stories that features children talking about the scriptures and sharing their favorite stories. It also features music. Another program is called Conversations. In this program Sheri Dew interviews church leaders and other LDS people.

Another show Everything Creative will feature interviews with artists and other creative people. Music with a Message will take a gospel theme and then find songs that support and illustrate that theme. This would be a great resource to look to when looking for music to fit a lesson topic. The program Legacy will focus on inspirational stories from church history.

This is a great service and a good opportunity to learn more about the church and a chance to focus on the gospel throughout the week. The church is also looking into options to add the station to satellite radio. Additionally there is a widget you can download to put on Facebook or your blog that advertises the station. They are also working on iPhone application that will allow you to listen the station on your iPhone.

You may also want to check out the Mormon page on YouTube. There are currently thirty-two videos listed. These videos can be used in family home evening lessons or just give you chance to focus on the gospel for a little bit during the day.
