Ancestry.com has a page that is filled with links to all of their Nevada collections. To access these records, you will need to have an Ancestry.com membership. Sometimes, there will be a collection or two that is offered for free. Return to their page often. Ancestry.com makes it obvious when a collection is new, has been updated, or is currently available for free.
Internment.net has cemetery records online. You can start using their website by putting your ancestor’s first and last name into the search engine at the top of the page. Or, you can select a county in Nevada to start with. If there is a link, it indicates that there are records for cemeteries in that county. If there is no link, then Internment.net doesn’t have records for the county.
FamilySearch has a Wiki page for Nevada. You can click on a link for every county in the state. Each will bring you to a FamilySearch Wiki page specifically about that county. The Nevada Wiki has some interesting historical information about the state. Towards the bottom of the page are a few links to FamilySearch Wiki pages about their collections of Nevada records.
GeneaLinks has a search engine at the top of their page. Put the first and last name of your ancestor into it. Next, select the record type you want to search for. Choose from: vital, birth, death, marriage, divorce, or “Genealogy”. GeneaLinks has some helpful information for genealogists who are new to Nevada genealogy. Did you know that copies of birth records are not given to anyone who cannot prove that he or she is a blood relative?
Cyndi’s List is, quite possibly, the largest collection of links to online genealogy resources. If it exists on the internet, then Cyndi’s List probably has a link to it. They have a page called “United States – Nevada”. Start by choosing one of their categories to browse through. Some categories include: “Birth, Marriage, Death”, “Census”, “Counties”, “Military”, “Newspapers”, and more!
