New TVs

We got a refund after we filed our 2010 tax return. We added it to our 2009 tax refund. We didn’t know what we wanted to do with the money but we had a list of things that were good to do.

One of the things on the list was couch. The sectional has served us well but it eats almost everything. We’re lost two remotes in it. The couch has eaten both my and Jessie’s combs. The fist blanket that we thought we lost we found years later in the couch. The couch is also covered in cat hair that I can’t get off no matter what I do.

We would love to fence in part of our one-acre yard so the children can play outside. The tax refund money isn’t enough to pay for the entire fence, though. While it would increase the value of our house, we’re ready for a change of place.

That leaves our TVs. The TV in our living room is a 65” HDTV that we bought when we still lived in California. There’s no way to anchor it to the wall but we didn’t see a risk of it tipping. The TV in our bedroom is a different matter. The bedroom TV was a 140-pound 32” box set that was on our dresser. It was secure on the dresser, but we were always nervous that it would fall down.

We vacillated between couch and TVs. The Costco coupon flyer cast the deciding vote. Costco had a nice looking 60” flat screen LED on sale. We were ready to go buy at Costco but ended up at Best Buy. We got such a deal at Best Buy. We got two TVs, a cabinet, and a Blu Ray, with money left over. I love the new TVs.
