No Carve Pumpkins for the Whole Family

With Halloween just around the corner the kids are itching to get started on their pumpkins! But if you are anything like me, the whole idea of handing those little pumpkin carving tools over to my four year old is a little frightening. Last year Mommy had to do the whole thing for him. Needless to say, neither one of us had much fun with it until it was finished and on the porch. This year I’m thinking we might try a new approach. No carve pumpkins are an easy solution to this little dilemma, and certainly just as fun! Plus, it saves you the hassle of going out to buy all those little pumpkin carving kits, and you’ll save a trip to the emergency room this year too!

Just lay out a little newspaper on the floor and let the kids go at it. Let them paint their pumpkins any color they want, take out the glitter from that rusty old craft drawer, and don’t forget the googly eyes! They can turn their pumpkin into virtually anything and the best part is it’s completely safe…unless they start eating the paint that is! If you have toddlers around, you may want to keep an eye on them throughout this process, since just about everything tends to go straight into their little mouths. The goal is to stay out of the emergency room this year, so watch close!

As for you, Mom, don’t forget to join in on the action! There’s nothing better than getting down on your hands and knees and playing with your kids! There are so many options for your pumpkin. You could make a classy little decoration for your porch or you could make a cute little creature like the kids! The sky is the limit! So get down and have some fun this year! They’re only little once!
