Nicole Breaks Her Silence

Not only did she not get to interview Paris Hilton, but now word has it Barbara Walters has been snubbed by Nicole Richie as well. According to ABC News, Hilton’s BFF chose to spill her guts to Walters’ colleague Diane Sawyer instead. On August second and third, Sawyer will broadcast parts of her interview with the “Simple Life” star on “Good Morning America.” The interview will be shown in its entirety on the August 3rd episode of “20/20.” The sit down with Sawyer marks Richie’s interview since her self-imposed media silence. Hmm… a three part interview? I’m surprised Sawyer edited … Continue reading

An Extremely Goofy Movie (2000)

In “An Extremely Goofy Movie,” we see that Goofy’s son Max has graduated from high school and is now going off to college with his two friends, PJ and Bobby. He’s really excited to be getting out on his own, and, I’m sorry to say, despite everything he learned in “A Goofy Movie,” he’s still ashamed of his father and wants to be anywhere but with him. He takes off early one morning without looking at the nice breakfast Goofy prepared for him and without even saying a proper goodbye. Goofy’s heart is broken as he wanders through the house, … Continue reading

Celebrities On The Move: Drew Moves To “Price Is Right” and Campbell Jumps Ship To CNN

It’s official… well, almost. Comic Drew Carey has confirmed that he will be replacing game show legend Bob Barker in the fall. Carey spilled the beans during a taping of the “Late Show with David Letterman.” The deal puts to end the massive amounts of speculation regarding who would fill Barker’s shoes at the CBS daytime game show “The Price is Right.” Several months ago 83-year-old Barker announced he would be retiring, that opened the floodgates regarding who would be selected as the popular show’s new host. The front-runner (at least for a while) seemed to be outspoken talk show … Continue reading

California Looks At A Pet Neutering Law

The state that is home to the American Kennel Club’s second largest dog show is looking at some pretty strict legislation to help curb pet overpopulation. California’s Assemblyman Lloyd Levine is sponsoring a bill that would require pet owners to sterilize their dogs and cats by the time the pet is four months old or face a hefty fine. The bill squeaked by in the Assembly, passing by a single vote. If passed by the California State Senate, the bill would be the nation’s biggest and baddest pet sterilization law. The goal is to reduce the number of dogs and … Continue reading

Do You Watch The Evening News?

When the clock strikes 5:30 p.m. (in Hawaii) my father dutifully stops what he is doing and sits down to watch the nightly national news. Looking at the time you may have figured out he is old-fashioned in the sense that he still gets his news from one of the three major networks and tends to shy away from the glitzy 24-hour news channels. Yes, my dad is part of a dying breed of loyal network TV news viewers. These days executives at ABC, CBS and NBC would pay a pretty penny to delve into my father’s mind and learn … Continue reading

Celeb Updates: Paris’s Least Favorite Color and Rosie’s Staying Put

Can you guess what it is? That’s right—-prison orange. According to her mother, Paris is “sick of orange.” But other than that Kathy Hilton says her daughter is doing well and is looking forward to being released from jail tomorrow. “I think she’s very, very excited to see the family,” the heiress’ mother told reporters on Saturday. Ma Hilton added that the party-girl was also looking forward to getting out of her orange prison uniform. Another of the socialite’s visitors (actress Ashley Scott of TV’s “Jericho”) told reporters that Paris can’t wait to get out and “eat.” How’s that for … Continue reading

Ring Around The Rosie

Rosie O’Donnell has made it no secret that she wants to replace Bob Barker on “The Price Is Right.” What she may not have realized is that she isn’t the only big name in Hollywood that has secretly pined to fill Barker’s shoes. Media sources say sitcom star Drew Carey could end up with the game show gig. The star of “The Drew Carey Show” and “Whose Line is it Anyway?” has reportedly met with the game show’s producers and CBS regarding the possibility of taking over for the now retired Barker. So now Rosie has stars circling her old … Continue reading

Famous Entertainment Reporter Dies

Did you watch “Live With Regis and Kelly” today? If you did, you may have heard the sad (and shocking) news that the show’s longtime entertainment reporter Claudia Cohen died of cancer last Friday. Frankly, I was floored. Decades ago when I worked at the television station that aired the show I watched it religiously. Subsequently, I got used to seeing Cohen on the air and enjoyed the banter she shared with Regis Philbin, Kathie Lee Gifford, and more recently, Kelly Ripa. So when Regis announced that Cohen died Friday of cancer I was stunned. For those of you unfamiliar … Continue reading

Yours… IF The Price Is Right

If you missed Bob Barker’s last appearance (maybe) on “The Price is Right” this morning, don’t worry CBS plans to rebroadcast it tonight prior to the Daytime Emmy Awards. BUT (and this is a big BUT) if you want to bid on the legendary game show host’s microphone you only have to the end of Barker’s repeat broadcast to do so. For those of you non-die-hard Barker fans, the man who has been kissed on the cheek by excited contestants on more occasions than he cares to remember stands to make eBay history. The retiring game show host’s long, skinny, … Continue reading

Barker’s Return?

Stop the presses! Could all the hoopla surrounding Bob Barker’s massively hyped exit from “The Price Is Right” been for naught? Perhaps. Seems that the silver-haired host who hung up his microphone (presumably) for good just a few days ago MAY be returning to the show after all. At least temporarily. Barker recently told news reporters that he would “happily return” to the show if a replacement host isn’t found by the time the new season starts in September. “They’re having trouble finding someone to do the show,” Barker said. “And I’ve told members of the staff here that … … Continue reading
