Physical Effects on a Marriage

My last couple of articles have discussed some factors that can effect a marriage. The first factor that I discussed was material items. A lacking of things that a couple desires can cause stress on a marriage. The second factor was emotional. Having an emotional and with your partner is very important. This article also talked about emotional and mental abuse.

In this article I will examine the effect of the physical factor. Most people understand that love and relationships cannot be purely based on physical terms. True relationships must go much deeper than the outside characteristics. Love is not and should not be based on one’s appearance.

However, physical attraction does play a big part is how we perceive and feel about each other. It are usually what first attracts us to each other. The inner attraction comes later. Therefore while physical attraction is not the most important factor, it is important.

When our physical attraction to our mate diminishes, the relationship can suffer greatly. Intimacy is not mandatory for a marriage to be successful. However, the relations that we share with our spouse can increase the bond and emotional ties that we share. When we no longer feel physically attracted to our mate, the emotional attraction begins to decrease also.

You do not have to be beautiful or even feel sexy to have physical attraction between you and your mate. As long as you and your mate find each other attractive it does not matter what everyone else in the world thinks. When you are in love and have a true bond, you will find that your mate is very appealing to you.

When this factor of love is lost, much goes with it.
