Planned Parenthood Made a Period Tracker App

Planned Parenthood Made a Period Tracker App | Families.comThere are many health apps out there that can be used to keep track of one’s health. Some health trackers do not include a section that tracks periods. Planned Parenthood created a period tracker app called Spot On. It is focused on tracking your period – and more!

Planned Parenthood is a health care provider that specializes in reproductive health care. In addition, they offer a wide range of safe, reliable health care – the majority of which is preventative health care.

In other words, the Spot On period tracker app has information that comes directly from the world-class sex educators and healthcare providers at Planned Parenthood. That’s a lot better than an app made by people who do not have a background in reproductive health care.

The Spot On app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store. It will be released on Android in June of 2016. The app allows people to track their periods. Unlike other period trackers, this one is genderless. It isn’t pink and flowery and it doesn’t use outdated language. It was intended to be welcoming for everyone who has a menstrual cycle.

You can record your symptoms, moods, and activities to learn what affects your menstrual cycle and how your cycle affects your body. Spot On can help you predict when your period is coming, but it does not predict other signs of fertility (like ovulation). There are plans to include that feature in future updates.

Spot On also will give you reminders about various birth control methods including: the pill, the IUD, the implant, the patch, the shot and the ring. Spot On can help you understand the effects that your birth control has on your cycle. It can remind you to take a pill, change a patch, get a shot, change a ring, or see your doctor for a replacement implant or IUD.

In addition, the app can teach you what normal birth control side effects are. This can bring peace of mind for people who are starting their first form of birth control or who have switched to one that is brand new to them. The app has information about other available forms of birth control. That could be very useful for someone that wants to switch from the one they are using to a different kind.

Planned Parenthood does not make any money from the Spot On app. Again, the app can be downloaded for free. You do not have to be a person who uses Planned Parenthood as your health care provider in order to make use of the Spot On app. In short, the app is for anyone who has a period and wants to track it.
