Heart Door Hanger

You will need

Three colors of felt, in this case, green, light pink and dark pink

Piece of ribbon, about 18 inches long

Scissors

Paper

Straight Pins

Needle

Thread

Stuffing

1. Cut two square pieces of green felt, about six inches by six inches.

2. Cut two heart patterns out of paper, the right size to fit in the middle of one of the green squares. Make one heart bigger than the other, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch all the way around.

3. Pin the larger heart pattern to the light pink felt and cut out. Pin the smaller heart pattern to the dark pink felt and cut out. Remove the patterns.

4. Stack the felt hearts so the smaller one is centered on the larger. Pin to the middle of one green square. Sew all the way around the smaller heart with a simple running stitch, going through all the layers, but stop about one inch from finishing.

5. Push just a little bit of stuffing in the heart, just enough to make the small heart pop out a little. Finish sewing around the small heart.

6. Now fold the ribbon in half and pin to the other green square like so:

7. Place the green square with the heart on it on top of the other square so the ribbon is sandwiched in between and pin in place, making sure to pin through the ribbon at the top and bottom.

8. Sew all the way around the edges of the green squares with a running stitch. Make sure you catch the ribbon securely in the sewing. Stop a few inches from finishing.

9. Lightly stuff the pillow. Finish sewing, remove the pins, hang on a doorknob and enjoy!
