Shoes for My Daughter Part V

Now that I had finally found some shoes that might be acceptable, my daughter still needed to try them on and get her feet sized by the certified fit specialist  When my daughter was getting her feet sized, the first thing the saleswoman/certified fit specialist said to me was that my daughter had wide feet.  I was shocked because her feet always seemed long and narrow to me … but who was I to argue with the certified fit specialist.  I has sized my daughter’s feet at a four and a half but tended to go with a five to give her feet some room to grow. However, the certified fit specialist sized her at a five and a half wide.  Yikes!  My eleven month old daughter (at the time) has huge feet!  The saleswoman/fit specialist went back to retrieve the three pairs of shoes, a pair of gray boots and two different pairs of black patent leather Mary Janes, in the appropriate sizes. Once it was time to try the actual shoes on her feet, my daughter had a fit.  She refused to stand with the shoes on her feet.  The saleswoman switched my preferred pair of Mary Janes, which had a slightly softer rubber sole, off my daughter’s feet so quickly, saying that they were not going to work, before I could even get a look and feel of the shoes on my daughter’s feet…. but she was the expert so she must know what she is doing.  The second pair of Mary Janes had a more solid sole and a large flower embellishment on the strap.  I did not like them nearly as much as the first pair, but the saleswoman/fit specialist declared that they were a much better fit.  In the end we got the gray boot and the second pair of black Mary Janes for my daughter.
