Teacher Who Put Student in Box Returns to Work
A Special Education teacher who works in a public Middle School was putting a student into a refrigerator box as a form of “time out”. The student suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was one years old, and was confined to a wheelchair. The student’s IEP called for the teacher to walk him around outside to calm him down – not to stick him into a box! The teacher was suspended, and has now returned to work, (in a different school building).
