Candy Spelling Spills Again

I’ve always found it strange when mothers and daughters are at odds. I know it is probably close minded, but I had a wonderful relationship with my mother and the fact that she is gone now only makes it more difficult for me to understand when I hear about celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Tori Spelling being on the outs with their mothers. But, after reading the latest news, I think I may be starting to understand, at least in Tori’s case. If Candy Spelling is really trying to reconcile with daughter Tori like she claims from time to time, … Continue reading

More Behind the Spelling Home Sale

I thought maybe the 56,500 square foot home was just too much for Candy Spelling, but apparently there is a little more behind her decision to put The Manor up for sale. Candy told PEOPLE magazine that she would have never put The Manor up for sale if she thought she would ever reconcile with daughter Tori and her family. She said, “If I had any hope that I would have a relationship with my grandchildren I would never sell this house.” Candy, who will be moving to a $47 million dollar condo with the same square footage as her … Continue reading

If you happen to have $150 million lying around (come on, check those sofa cushions!), you can purchase a really lovely Los Angeles home. His widow Candy has now decided to put their lusciously extravagant house up for sale. She allowed her Wheaten Terrier Madison pick out the real estate agent for the job by seeing how the dog reacted. The job finally went to Sally Forster Jones, an agent for Coldwell Banker Previews … Continue reading

Downsizing Hollywood Style

Of course, “downsizing” is relative when you’re talking about people who drop $500 a day so their dog can get a massage. So when you see headlines screaming: “Candy Spelling is Scaling Back” don’t get ready to hand over your hanky just yet. The bazillionaire widow of TV mogul Aaron Spelling and the mother of reality TV star Tori Spelling is selling her world-famous 56,500 square foot Holmby Hills estate (better known as Los Angeles County’s largest home) and moving into a paltry 16,500 square foot penthouse. According to the Los Angeles Times, Spelling just shelled out $47 million of … Continue reading

Reverend Tori Spelling?

Apparently being a wife, mother, and reality TV show star wasn’t enough for Tori Spelling. The actress recently revealed on her MySpace page that she is now an officially ordained minister. Spelling says she applied for her ordination online and her certificate “is in the mail.” So why is the actress adding minister to her resume? The word diversifying comes to mind. Spelling says she was asked to officiate the same-sex “love” ceremony of a couple staying at Chateau La Rue, the bed and breakfast the former “90210” star runs with husband Dean McDermott on their Oxygen reality show “Tori … Continue reading

Poor Little Rich Girl???

When famed television producer Aaron Spelling died last month he left behind an estate estimated to be worth nearly $500 million. A lot of money that is now leading to a lot of bitter feelings between Spelling’s daughter Tori (of “Beverly Hills 90210 fame) and her estranged mother Candy. According to US Weekly magazine, “Tori will only receive a $200,000 cash inheritance from her father’s estate, combined with around $600,000 in private investments.” To everyday folks $800,000 may seem like a windfall, but not when compared to Aaron Spelling’s total worth. A source who claims to know the family intimately … Continue reading

Spelling Mansion NOT For Sale

Widespread rumors that famed television producer Aaron Spelling’s massive 56,000-sq-foot home was on the market for $150 million, forced his widow Candy to issue yet another statement to the media this week (the fourth since the death of her husband on June 23rd). “I am deeply saddened and disappointed by the rumors and stories that have emerged claiming that I have my home up for sale,” Candy Spelling said in a statement Thursday night. “I am forced to respond during this sensitive time that these stories are not true, nor do I have any current plans to sell the house … Continue reading

Real Life Four Weddings and a Funeral

It’s been a busy few days for some of Tinseltown’s biggest stars. The media frenzy has finally died down in Sydney, Australia, where Hollywood glamour queen Nicole Kidman wed country-singing superstar Keith Urban in a candlelight ceremony Sunday night. The newlyweds spent their first night as husband and wife in Sydney, then jetted off on their honeymoon Monday. Meanwhile, less than 24 hours after they tied the knot, newlyweds Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney picked up coffee in Pasadena. It was their first outing as husband and wife following their Saturday nuptials. The Desperate Housewives star wed her stockbroker beau … Continue reading

Hollywood Loses Legend Aaron Spelling

I was shocked to hear that Aaron Spelling died today (June 23, 2006). I know he was in his golden years (he was 83) and had recently suffered a stroke, but he was such a force in Hollywood, it is hard to believe he is actually gone. If you have ever turned on a television set, chances are you’ve seen at least one show that Aaron Spelling touched in some way. The Guiness Book of World Records lists him as the most prolific television producer ever with 3,000 television shows to his credit. Among the shows he produced were Zane … Continue reading
